Neo is an industry-renowned chartered marketer with a strong corporate and entrepreneurial background. He is currently the CEO and owner of Lady Shield which is a rapid response safety app that uses your phone as a panic button in case of emergency.
Neo also owns and runs Trina Marketing Services (Pty) Ltd, a Media and Marketing company operating advertising digital screens in SA’s biggest retail chains. He co-founded his first company, Sendr, in 2015 which was an on demand delivery service which he exited in 2018 to pursue his media passion.
He was recently responsible for the marketing, brand, and sales of the OTT video service (Viu); as well as the commercialisation strategy as Chief Marketing Officer (consultant).
He is an enterprising, strategic, and innovative marketer and businessman, Neo’s in-depth expertise of the traditional broadcasting and VOD industry has seen him lead entertainment products and services across the continent, developing and managing marketing strategies and campaigns in the last decade.
Before consulting for Viu Africa, Neo was the Executive VP: Marketing at Econet Media, where he launched Kwesé TV in 13 markets across Africa. During his time at Econet, he managed marketing and brand teams across the continent and set up operational teams in 20 African countries and managed 92 people in various marketing capabilities including the incorporation of social and digital marketing expertise into the business.
During his 7-year period at MultiChoice Africa, Neo was responsible for DStv Africa markets as Senior Marketing Manager and later General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa. From 2008 – 2013, he was responsible for the growth of the DStv brand through the development and implementation of marketing strategy alignment to business strategy. He managed advertising agencies and marketing teams throughout the continent and provided strategy and functional oversight while supporting in-country teams in achieving their revenue targets.
