​Willem qualified as a Chartered Accountant and completed 20 rewarding years at one of the Big 4 Accounting firms. During this time, supported by his valuable team of approximately 100 accounting professionals, he gained invaluable experience and knowledge about how to develop, drive and execute business strategies - to numerous subsidiaries of large listed multinational companies.

Willem co-founded DoughGetters Accounting™ and together with his partner seeks to play a leading role in shaping the future of accounting in South Africa and the rest of the world. In March 2020 DoughGetters Accounting™ was awarded Emerging Firm of the Year by Xero South Africa
